Information about payments for settlements and judgments processed by the Office of Comptroller under 815 CMR 5.00. The Office of the Comptroller does not negotiate or approve the amount of settlements, or the costs of legal services and/or indemnification. Updated quarterly.
The Office of the Comptroller is the Commonwealth’s overseer of tax reporting and tax withholding requirements for state agencies and departments to federal and state authorities. Payments for settlements and judgments are processed as prescribed by the Office of the Comptroller under 815 CMR 5:00 to assist in meeting compliance obligations. 
The Office of the Comptroller does not negotiate or approve the amount of settlements, or the costs of legal services and/or indemnification.
As required by Section 2 Chapter 154 of the Acts of 2018, the Office of the Comptroller, reports quarterly on “Settlements and Judgments” to the House and Senate Committees on Ways and Means. The information below shows payments, by department, of settlements and judgments from appropriation account 1599-3384.
